Ben Olson turned an anonymous Upper East Side apartment into a “pied-à-terre” for a couple who had amassed a collection of artworks by artists ranging from Warhol to Hockney.
The totally redesigned flat now has an entry foyer and a separate living room with dining area that provides access to an outdoor terrace and views to Central Park. The kitchen has been reconfigured to incorporate a separate sitting room / den, as well as a new guest powder room. The original bedroom did not have a wall that could accommodate a queen bed, so Olson extended walls, added and enlarged closets and made a livable master suite within this small yet spacious 925 sq ft apartment. The client worked with Jayne Design Studio, New York, to furnish this unit so they can entertain guests when they are spending time in the city.
Spotlighted in New York Spaces magazine.
